Conference Talk & Workshops

Project

Accessibility and Ethical Design in Digital Products.

Deliverables

  • Conference Presentation
  • Workshop Session
  • Participant Feedback
  • Discussion Materials

Goal

To educate and prepare businesses for the upcoming EU accessibility law, and to promote ethical design practices that prioritize user welfare in digital products.

Solution

The events included comprehensive discussions on the implications of the new accessibility law and an interactive workshop on ethical design principles.

We have collaborated with Hogia Group, Medborgarskolan, Infotiv, IT-Högskolan and UX Meetups where we have spoken at their conferences and held workshops focused on improving the understanding of accessibility and ethical design in digital products. Our primary goal has been to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to meet regulatory requirements and design for user-centric experiences.

To achieve this, we have presented on the upcoming EU law requiring that all digital products be accessible to everyone by 2025. The sessions highlight the business advantages of early compliance, emphasising how inclusive design can lead to increased engagement and trust among users. We have also led workshops that explore how design choices influence user behavior, discussing how to identify and avoid design patterns that may mislead users.

Participants always engage in hands-on activities that recognise ethical design practices and learn the power of “nudging” to encourage positive decision-making without manipulation. Feedback collected from attendees indicates a deeper understanding of both accessibility requirements and ethical design considerations.

The discussions ignited a collaborative spirit, with many participants expressing a strong commitment to implementing these practices within their organisations. The talks not only prepared them for the changes ahead but also fostered a culture of responsibility toward users in digital product development. Ultimately, our efforts aim to create a more accessible and ethical digital landscape for all.
